IOSH Managing Safely (3 days) - HS032

This is a three-day course which is accredited by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health® (IOSH). It is designed for managers and supervisors in any sector and organisation and is delivered under licence by members of QMUL’s Health and Safety Directorate. The course aims to ensure all delegates are aware of their responsibilities and provide them with the information and tools required to manage health and safety in their teams. The course includes a variety of group exercises which will enable you to learn in a practical way.

Duration: 3 days - 09:00 to 17:00

Objectives:

  • Understand health and safety responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Understand how to assess and control hazards and risks effectively
  • Understand how health and safety law works
  • Learn the principles of accident and incident investigation
  • Understand how to measure health and safety performance

Certification: Delegates who reach the required standard in the multi-format assessment and risk assessment project will be awarded the IOSH Managing Safely® Certificate.

Suitability: The course is open to all staff at the University but delegates should have some level of management responsibility. Places are therefore allocated following consultation with departmental/school safety coordinators or line managers.

External organisations:  Open to attendees from external organisations but please note this course is geared towards QMUL / Barts Health NHS Trust arrangements. There is normally a fee chargeable to other organisations see QMUL e-Shop for details.
